Graduate Student Instructor for Microfabrication Technology (EE 143) - University of California, Berkeley (08/2021 -- 12/2021)
- This course introduces integrated circuit device fabrication and surface micromachining technology including thermal oxidation, ion implantation, impurity diffusion, film deposition, expitaxy, lithography, etching, contacts and interconnections, and process integration issues. Device design and mask layout, relation between physical structure and electrical/mechanical performance are also discussed. MOS transistors and poly-Si surface microstructures will be fabricated in the laboratory and evaluated.
- Led lab sessions designed to give students hands-on experience with IC device fabrication technologies including lithography, etching, thermal oxidation, ion implantation, dopant drive-in, thin film deposition, etc. The students finish with fully functioning microchips.
- Trained students on semiconductor metrology including characterization of IC and Micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) devices.
